This is not a get rich quick scheme, it’s a work from home business, and yes it takes work. But what’s the alternative? Working for someone else the rest of your life.

Wouldn’t you rather be home working for yourself? Building your own income, building your own business, building your own security? Because I can assure you, if your waiting for a handout your going to be greatly disappointed. Plus you will miss so much life that you could have really enjoyed now, not 30 years from now.

I am going to give you the quick steps right now, then as we go along with this blog I will flesh them out even more. You have to understand that you have to learn to test ideas for yourself. I can tell you what I do, and I am always testing stuff. Not much is totally for certain. But I will give you the nuts and bolts that it takes to get r done.

Oh yeah, one thing before I get started. You can do ALL of this for free. So, your total investment is zilch.

1. You have to set up a blog. What is a blog. It’s just a super simple way to manage content and put it on the web. Blogs where originally created so that mom and pops could easily go online and create a website that they could publish content to, and it was designed to be kind of like a online journal.

Why a blog for business? Many people believe that a blog has some kind of magical powers or something, it doesn’t. It is just what I said above. A simple way to publish content on the Internet, monetize it, and let the world know about it, without being a computer wiz kid, or tech savvy.

In our case content will become your money.

Blogs are easy to update, automate, optimize, and monetize.

That’s why making money with blogs is so powerful. You can easily do things with a blog that would take you much more time and effort to do with a regular web page. Plus blogs are set up for human interaction which is important for “The Faceless Internet”.

2. You have to drive traffic to your blog. This can be done by buying traffic, borrowing traffic, or creating traffic. It can also be broken up into a smaller category, you can buy traffic or get free traffic.

I prefer free traffic. Getting traffic to your site is the biggest missing link for most all online businesses. And I don’t mean just any traffic, I mean targeted traffic, that is looking for a solution, and will convert into money.

It just so happens that the best, most targeted traffic, that will spend money, comes from the search engines. The 3 big players in the search engines are Google, Yahoo, and MSN. But Yahoo Search and MSN have gotten together to create a new search engine called Bing. So, watch for them to send you a lot of traffic soon.

If you want to get free search engine traffic you have to get your site ranked in the tops of the search engines directly or indirectly. This means if your site is about “how to get rid of cellulite fast“, then when people type that search in in the search engines, you want your site to come up on the first page.

When this happens, then people will find your site and click to come through to your site.

How Do You Get Ranked On The First Page Of Google?

There are two major factors that will get you ranked high in the search engines. First is what we call on page optimization. This is simply putting keywords in the right places on your blog and blog post that tells the search engine (spiders) robots what your site is about.

The second factor, and THE biggest factor in ranking on the first page and getting free traffic is getting targeted anchor links to your page. If you want to rank for a term like “how to make money online“, then you need links pointing to your from other web pages that have the anchor text “how to make money online”.

This lets the search engines know what your site is about.

It’s really like a popularity contest. Each link that you get is like a vote for you. The more links that you get the more popular your site will become (the higher you will rank). But not just any links. They have to be targeted to what you want to rank for.

The first time I ever saw this in action I remember it was a lady named Amy Cross, and she was promoting a new product called Blog Submitter Pro or something. Anyway, it was way ahead of it’s time. She took a blank page in the cat furniture niche and got a ton of backlinks to the site, and was ranking #1 for the term “cat furniture”.

The page didn’t have any content on it. None. If you searched for it at the time the listing in Google and Yahoo would say, if you’re the owner of this site please… (update it or something). And she was ranking #1. What the software did was allow you to mass comment to blogs with a targeted link back to your site.

Now the rules have changed as far as comment links don’t count that much any more because of this and because they are so easy to get. Search engines are smarter than that. But the game of getting links has not. The rules for ranking high because of targeted anchor text link pointing back to your site has not.

You need links pointing back to your site that “say” what you want to rank for.

Anyway, the page was blank. When I saw this I was like dang. And since then no one has ever been able to tell me any different about the power of backlinks and their ability to rank you for a term.

3. You have to monetize your blog. There are a number of ways to make money blogging. The main ways to make money blogging are through Google Adsense or Yahoo Publisher Network, Your Own Products, Affiliate Marketing, or Selling Ad Space.

Google Adsense or YPN: You simply place some code on your site that they give you, and Google or Yahoo will display relevant ads for your site and it’s visitors. When ever someone clicks on your ad you get a percentage of the ad revenue made from that click. This is my “second tier money” that I made reference to earlier. What I like about this is that you don’t have to sell anything. You just have to learn how to get traffic and how to get them to click on your ads. And no you can’t tell them to click or click on them yourselves, you WILL get banned. I guarantee it. It’s just too much to risk.

Your Own Products: You can create and sell your own products. I prefer information products because they are fast to create, have extreme market, can be digital or physical, don’t need an inventory, and they can be tailored to be a solution to any pain in any market.

Affiliate Marketing: Don’t want to create, manage, and sell your own products? Then affiliate marketing is for you. You just send traffic to a product like The Keyword Academy – How To Make Money Online. If people click through and purchase you get a commission.

Selling ad space. You can make money on your blog selling ad space if you have enough targeted traffic. You can use services like Adbrite and other ad networks to do so or you can just put up a ad on your blog that says advertise here and sell the ad space your self.

The fastest way to get started monetizing your blog on the Internet is to with Adsense or YPN. Making money with Adsense is THE type of monetization that we will cover on this blog for the most part. You can always switch it later, but it’s a great start. Once you have traffic you can do what ever the heck you want. But this type of income is fast and passive and a has a whole lot less maintenance.
